The 'Cancel Culture' is a modern form of revisionism, ostracism and censorship. It affects public figures, brands, consumer products, works of art or film, and historical and entertainment figures as a result of statements or events considered offensive, even if they happened centuries ago.

From Gone with the Wind (eliminated from the HBO catalog before being readmitted with an ad hoc introduction) to Pepé Le Pew who will not appear in the sequel to Space Jam presumably because he is macho and harassing.

All this in the name of utterly hypocritical "political correctness" and a phony "social justice."

In reality it's the age-old practice of sweeping the dust under the rug, which only produces more stinky, rotten garbage as well as pissiness.

It's a new set of moral standards and political alignments that tend to undermine open debate in favor of ideological conformity.

Something that not even Nazism or Stalinism managed to accomplish.

The cancel culture as the 'opposite of piety' and the extreme degeneration of the already absurd political correctness.
