god have you ever been so obsessed with something that you're really disappointed there's practically no extra media for it? that's literally me with american psycho AND HEAR ME OUT before you assume the worst (and rightfully so): i don't think patrick bateman is some "sigma" male figure nor do i praise his actions. he's a loser. and i love that. i've read the book and seen the movie-- thinking about watching the musical-- and i'm absolutely enamored with his character. everything he has is internalized (like his homophobia) and he's coked up for like half of it so literally nothing makes sense. i think many people miss that factor when considering what the events of american psycho really are, but that makes sense because most people have only seen the movie and it barely makes any mention of that there. honestly i wish i had more people to talk to about his character and the movie as a whole but i guess this blog post will do!! have you guys ever had any interest that's haunted you like that??
