Day thirteen of blogginggg ☆/Jeff Bezos thinks we're stupid!~

Hellllo! Jeff Bezos was recently featured in an interview for CNBC around his views of how AI is impacting the workforce! And appranently, we're making up the problems ourselves! >_<

Unfroutantly, the interviewer wasn't as aggressive as I'd hoped and didn't even BRING UP THE FACT THAT AI IS KILLING THE PLANET, but he did ok ig. I'll walk ygs through the interview!

He starts off by stating how there's "so many people who are afraid that AI is going to take their j*b (ok I'm kidding that was a joke jaja so funny) I think that there's going to be a labor shortage. (which is basically when there's a lot of jobs, but not enough workers. This is the OPPOSITE of what we're experiencing imo, but ok jeff)"

Now, I know that Jeff Bezos POSSIBLY knows more about running a company than I, but saying that AI is causing a labor shortage is extremely out of touch. Like he's clearly never worried about wondering of your passions and dream job is going to be taken by Art-killing Idiot (AI) and that he'll have no other ways to go about life. I can't think of any defensible position to defend his stance.

Now, the interviewer states how in a commencement address, the students there were booing whenever the speaker would mention AI, rightfully.

Jeff responsed "The reason they're afraid of that [not having a job] is because all these smart people keep saying that. (stammers) - Who aren't smart. (He's laughing btw), any they're saying, oh my gosh, yknow, there's gonna be no more Radiologists, because AI can read X-rays better than a radiologist can, and that there's gonna be no more Software Engineers because AI can program better than a Software Engineer can. And they're wrong!"

Bro the fact that he's treating the fact that AI is taking jobs as an idea or a new theory or fear-mongering thing is insane. ITS HAPPENING ITS REAL BUDDY. Saying that their afraid because someone else is telling to be is flat out idiotic. Like no, people are afraid because it's happening in front of them dafuq?

He further adds "So what's really gonna happen, is that it's gonna elevate all these people. Like let's say you're a software engineer, (stammers) You've been digging out a basement for your house with a shovel and someone hands you a bulldozer"

WHAT, is he seriously gonna go with this analogy???? Listen, you were on a construction site, all working with shovels, imagine how fewer people you would need is they all got bulldozers! Again, he thinks we're stupid and that we're not educated.

He continues to ramble gleefully, "You should be so happy. If you're digging the basement to your house, and someone says 'hey how about this?", I have a tool here thats gonna, ha, and, they're, and what's gonna happen it that we're gonna have so much productivity in our economy, for example, and this is a fact, a lot of people who have two earner income households, one of the people are gonna drop out of the workforce, that's why we're gonna have a labor shortage"

huh...what....

this makes no sense... no, prices aren't gonna go down, things aren't gonna get easier, and you'd realize that if you thought about it for more than 2 seconds. First the idea that just because production and wage costs go down for a company, that theyre gonna lower costs for they're products, is unrealistic, and you can check history!! Secondly, if the cost they're cutting isn't for wages, then what is it??

"Because of the productivity gains, you're gonna be able to afford things. We're gonna have, I predict, we're gonna have deflation of certain core, uh, assuming we let this tech play out, we don't hamstring it with regulations with too early, we'll actually (Stammers) food will get cheaper and housing will get cheaper..."

Not to repeat, but if you aren't just firing people, how are these gonna get cheaper hello??

"we could even solve the permitting problem I was talking about earlier, for housing. Like it should take, when you, if you are a builder, why does it take six months, nine months, 2 years, 5 years depending on what municipality you live in, to get a building permit, AI could do it in 10 seconds, you get a yes or no in 10 seconds, and then you should have you're authority to build, and if it says no, it should give you the six reasons why, and then you fix it and resumbit, and then get a house and not two, six years from now. "

Like you're literally getting rid of the people like huh???

Anyways, I'm getting tired, but the interview isn't over yet, so lmk if u want a part 2, and thanks Augusttheduck (on yt) For being the inspo for this blog, and I’ll talk to you qtees later and let's remember to raise our lives up! ↑ ‧₊˚♡

ygs lmk what u think!!! :>
