Why do conservative people always think that punk is a sub-culture they can adopt?
They want to claim the music, the clothing, the hobbies, all the things we've poured our hearts into, but they don't want the politics. What's the point?
If you're only going to borrow the 'presentable' aspects of a sub-culture without the politics that originally sparked it to life, don't bother. I'll keep making my clothes and repairing everything I can with patches and making protest signs out of straight garbage, because at the end of the day we'll be the ones fighting for human rights while you're destroying the world.
It's all such a joke. These will be the very same people who stand in the streets criticizing me for my beliefs, and it's all because they've only ever stolen from others.

ngl I hate that to wear a certain style you "have to be on this side of politics" like I just wanna wear what I wanna wear without having to be an anarchist or a nazi

i think you're leaning the wrong way here, or misunderstand what i mean.
you can dress however you like! but being punk, specifically, also means being aligned with considerably 'rebellious' ideals such as advocating for equal rights across all people. crazy how that's considered rebellious, isnt it?
being an anarchist or nazi is way of the mark and entirely opposite to what i mean. if you're a genuinely good person who believes that other people, even if they're "X" thing, should still have human rights, you're already closer to punk than you might think.
