I would like to present a poem meant to encapsulate both the theme of my blog as well as the idea behind the blog — that being the idea of dogs, wolves, and the struggles of trauma-born responses that draw those that are familiar to the prior mentioned canine themes.
The poem is based on repetition with descriptors interspliced between to create a sense of rapid movement or desperation; it's meant to build up from aggression to fear in a rapid succession inspired by "Boots" by Rudyard Kipling.
Bite
Bite
The woods
Bite
Are warm
Bite
Are warm tonight
Tonight
Bite
The hunt
Bite
I run
Bite
We run tonight
Tonight
Bite
I hear
Bite
The sound
Bite
The sound
The sound
The sound
Bite
It follows
Bite
It listens
Bite
It comes
After
After
Bite
We run
Bite
We hide
Bite
It hunts
It hunts
It hunts
Bite.
