Cartoon Network is visting Live Action...Again.

Well. Odd things have been happening at CN since it's new president came in. One of the few have been the introduction of CartoonNito, a Cartoon Network block for pre-schoolers. It previously existed in other countries and has finally came to the west. That annoucment was already met with skeptiscism, as many refrenced Tickle-U as to how bad it could fail. However, this week, something even more odd was annouced.

According to a Cartoon Brew Q&A with Tom Ascheim (the president in mind), He says that live action shows will be returning to production. This is what he also added:

"The network has made live-action shows in the past (never with huge success), but Ascheim said it is committing to the medium under his leadership. For some of his colleagues, he added, producing anything other than cartoons “felt like a bump.” But when they ran the idea of live-action shows on Cartoon Network by viewers, they embraced the idea “without a blink.“

You can read the rest of the Q&A here.

In my personal opinion, I'm with what most people are thinking: "Again?"

This will most likely end up like last time. Nobody watches the shows becuase of the contradiction, they start to be produced less and less, eventually fading off the channel for good. Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

If the live action idea failed in the late 2000s, what makes him think it will actually work this time? It's probably gonna be yet another disaster and probably nobody will watch those live action shows.
