Poem and friends

In the quiet corners of my mind,

where shadows whisper louder than light,

I sit with thoughts that echo softly,

hoping someone might hear them tonight.

I watch the world from a distance,

like a ghost behind the glass,

smiling at moments that aren’t mine,

waiting for loneliness to pass.

I don’t need a thousand voices,

just one that feels like home,

someone to share the silence with,

so I won’t feel so alone.

A heart that understands mine,

even when I don’t know what to say,

someone who stays, not fades away.

So…

is there anyone out there like me?

Would someone like to be my friend?
