What is America? That's something I'm sure many people are beginning to wonder- because it's origins are nothing like they are today. We've come a long way, through slavery, patriarchy, racism, homophobia.. Yet that still exists today. Why?
Founded in 1776 by a controversial take on pursuit of liberty, democracy and equality. But that had always been catered to white men alone who had different religious beliefs after immigrating to America after Europe went batshit on religion.
I want to talk about the state of our nation. A country built on immigrants. The culture of America is LITERALLY DEFINED AS A "nation of immigrants" because of it's diverse population. You can go to any state in the country, you will have African-Americans, Asian-Americans, European-Americans, Native-Americans.. And for some reason that diversity and sharing of culture is being ripped down by the same men that endorsed slavery, homophobia, the trail of tears, and patriarchy? Why are we letting our country get so bad we have to protest, and even then that's hardly enough. We have people being ripped from their homes and thrown to a different country because of an imaginary line across land. It's absolutely dystopian and unacceptable. There's really not much that I, as a minor, can do. Not much majority of minors that wish to see change can do. But i'm sure we want change, more than anything.
Let's talk about racism and slavery.
So many terms that were used during slavery and have racist origins are normalized today. We are actively regressing in terms of evolution. And it's time we revolt.
Female - often used in debates against women's rights or women in general, Female is a scientific term used to describe a plant or animal. Female, coming from the latin word of "femella" a young woman or girl. However it's growing use is rooted in slavery.
Black women were literally considered "perfect property" This was because they provided productive labor in fields, domestic labor, and reproductive capacity. Often ensuring the continuation of slavery through their children. Because of this, Black women also faced sexual violence and abuse. They were often objectified and referred to as "breeder" "chattel" and "Jezelbel" stereotyping women as hypersexual, which was obviously not true. And because of this, Black women have continued to be fetishized and sexualized by their oppressors in the most disgusting ways possible, as if stereotyping women in general wasn't already disgusting.
Motherfucker - A term used to describe a person who fucks a mother or theirs.
But motherfucker isn't just an insult, it was term used by slave owners when they forced sons to impregnate their mothers to keep generations of slaves going. It's not just an insult, it's something that we've forgotten over the years as slavery ended, but our racism did not.
The N word. - One of the most offensive slurs to ever exist. Used as a racial slur directed to Black people, it's grown more and more common amongst all races to use, which is absolutely unacceptable. There is no such thing as a "n word pass" no matter what race you are unless black. and even then, it shouldn't even be used. A white person using the n word pass doesn't make them one of you, it makes them just become another part of ancestry.
will finish later
