AI is used by almost everyone around you.
its hard to avoid it
it might not seem like a big deal if you use it since everyone else uses it but just 5-50 words to ChatGPT or any other AI website / app uses up about a bottle of water to cool down their systems in their AI data centres.
that may not seem like a lot but all together AI uses around 312 to 765 BILLION LITRES A DAY. A SINGULAR DAY.
one of the other many major problems which are caused by this massive waste of clean drinking water is
WHOLE NEIGHBOURHOODS and towns that are next to the data centres are deprived of water from their taps. the data centres that they live by suck up almost all of the water.
apparently we will run out of fresh, clean drinking water in atleast 13 years.
another major issue that comes from AI is the deep fake and child sexual assault material content that people make.
it is honestly DISGUSTING.
people are using pictures of CHILDREN to create realistic images and videos of children nude and or doing suggestive activities / actions etc.
they take pictures from school websites, family channels, parents' instagrams and practically anywhere.
this doesnt just affect children, people are using celebrities or just really ANYONE to make realistic porn or suggestive videos.
it is utterly DISGUSTING.
people have grown to be so dependent on and sometimes addicted to AI that it is quite literally melting our brains and turning us GENUINELY STUPID.
schools are riddled with students who cant get through an assignment or test without using AI.
we are being taught in schools that AI is simply just a helpful tool and not something that is dooming this generation and the future generations to come.
people cant think for themselves any more.
our problem solving skills are going down the drain.
its the google effect but 10x worse.

AI is so implanted in our society is really hard to avoid it, everyone uses AI and truly trust in everything it says. We are very vulnerable to being manipulated

Yess this is so important. Everyone around me uses AI like it is not actively destroying the plante and society. It drives me insane. Teachers at my school are giving us tasks where W have to use AI all the time, ist absurde

The whole AI problem has gotten so bad in my environment to the point I have to educate my family and teachers. TEACHERS. people of authority that I should follow.
My psychiatrist also doesn’t believe in global warming so any time i express concern over AI she starts arguing with me as if I'm attacking her.
I don't wanna be a pessimist since I have managed to change views of many people on my own.. but it is so so frustrating and impossible to escape now.

AI slopists are ruining the indie art scene and these people genuinely believe rambling into a prompt window puts them at the same level as sculptors or painters, people with ACTUAL skill, then you add that on top of all this environmental stuff and the price of RAM like how tf can anyone realisticallt support GenAI and be considered a functioning person?

Id also like to add its driving prices up for RAM which is very important for computers or really anything that involves everyday use of technology (phones, tv, internet, networking equipment, etc.) which drives prices up on it making it hard for everyday joe to even afford it.
These AI companies dont do anything good for the environment or for people.
SSD prices also suck as a result, AI chuds genuinely ruin everything

YES. This needs to be discussed so much more than it has been. It seems like nobody knows how negatively AI impacts our environment. My father who went vegan for the environment, strongly supports and uses AI daily (then again, he’s a horrible hypocrite and thats why we don’t talk anymore). It seems like every single teacher at my school uses and supports AI (Including our MULTIPLE art teachers). It’s absolutely insane.
Same!! I go to an art studio and they use AI refferences there.

my math teacher is like ai number 1 basher he loveessss ai and even makes assembly about how amazing it is encouraging pupils to use it and when i told him about the impacts of ai he said he uses 4 "sustainability" we r genuinely so done
