Opening up a TikTok comment section nowadays is like watching a puffer fish write a fucking essay. These comment sections are simply filled with dark, deep voids of uneducated, desensitized people who have no awareness for the events going on in the world right now. For example, on Saturday, the United States + Israel attacked Iran which led to worldwide panic and has now led to a death toll of 555. So what might be TikTok's response to this? Welp...
These so-called "relatable" comments are often accompanied with meme images that are supposed to be considered... funny. But when talking about serious world events, our generation tends to use memes and "jokes" to justify their lack of empathy and emotional intelligence in regards to these real world situations. While 51 schoolgirls just died due to the US and Israel attacks, and you're worrying about whether or not you'll be able to get a boyfriend because of the start of a war? My comments may sound harsh, but this over reliance on humor fully diverts our attention from the things that are actually occurring and it desensitizes us to a point where our unseriousness makes us brain dead. So maybe instead of commenting about how YOUR privileged and healthy life was unaffected because you "gooned" through an entire war, maybe instead you should pay your respects to those who are suffering and starving in other countries. Free your brain, and just learn to be more thoughtful about your remarks on politics and news around the world. :)

just proves the claim that these comments and "funny videos" about real and terrible events desensitize people from actually acknowledging a problem/criticizing our government. it'll unfortunately get worse before it gets better (which is exactly what everyone wants to hear lmao....sigh),, but nobody taking anything seriously is helping this evil persist!!!! fuck the government!!! fuck tiktok!!!

i think SOME and A LOT of the people who are in tiktok comments are selfish.. they don’t ever take anything seriously, whatsoever! Not even when lives are involved. They’d only care if it was their own.. but nobody puts themselves in anybody’s shoes, or even tries!
People are selfish, and too bold nowadays. The hate should be stopped and so should the violence.
But for real, the world could be coming to an end and you’re worried about a BOYFRIEND? girl you went your whole life without them, who cares! Worry about what’s more important in the world! Innocent civilians’ lives!
