Is anyone else tired of every artist or whatever being problematic?

Lately feels like the moment you look closer into any band or artist you find out they all suck. Either they're all pedos there's a pedo in the band, they are married to someone who was in a band with pedos, the owner of their label/CEO was in the files, they collab with Zionist (as in supporting the genocides leaded by the "state" of Israel) brands, they are Zionist themselves, they refuse to stand up against people like this even tho they are super wealthy at this point, they're homophobes, transphobes, racists.... the list goes on.

It's so tyring to have to choose between supporting artists or creators you like (because of their art) and following your moral compass. This should not be a thing???

Maybe, and I've considered, it's the fact that we are cronically online and parasocial as fuck now? If you think about it, it makes sense. Back in the day we didn't have social media and news outlets and stuff would not report or this kinds of stuff, so that explains why this fenomenon is a lot more prevalent now

So now what? What does one do? Stop supporting anything slightly controversial?

Truth is, I don't know. It certainly sounds like an option, but I think we'd all be miserable If we were to do that. I personally think the answer lies in the classic: "separate art from the artist". but instead I'd phrase it more like: "separate the artist from the individual", meaning, You can like someone for their artistic talent and their work without necessarily liking who they are as a person (because truth is, for most of these people we know NOTHING about who they actually are behind closed curtains)

So with that being said, next time I say: "I love X!" "I'm an X fan!", i really mean: "i love X's music, but i don't necessarily agree with their actions or whatevs even though I am aware of them"

Of course, there are artists where you really have to consider if you're even willing to say you like their art given thay are... a bit worse that "i collaborated with a problematic brand" and are more like "i dated a fifteen year old and i am homophobic" so... yeah?

Anyways, long rant. Reminder I am not a native english speaker, so... I'm sorry if any of this has weird phrasing.
