Can we make being vegeterian a trend again??

Vegeterianism- it used to be a trend

I swear a few years ago everyone was vegeterian or even vegan. I, myself am a vegeterian for about a year now and I don't intend to stop anytime soon.

The thing I have noticed now is that nobody promotes or advocates for it anymore. Like we didn't forget about how gruesome the meat industry is, right? Or the impact the fact that we eat and produce crazy amounts of meat, has on the evironment? Like how does noone talk about it anymore- especially in the english speaking countries it's really not popular. At least that's what I noticed.

Also how can eating raw meat be a trend like why??

Funfact I learned today is that vegeterians are less likely to get like 5 types of cancer.

Anyway, I really hope I could inspire some of you to think about going veggie again.

I totally understand! Gladly I know a lot of people that are veggie, but thats probably also because of my bubble lol but I think there are comparatively a lot of people in switzerland that are veggie.
But to be honest I feel like a lot of people don't really think about what they eat after they become veggie, I did too. I feel like there needs to be more awareness that just because ur veggie doesn't mean you aren't harming animals. The milk and egg industrie are soo cruel and horrific and people are still supporting that when they are veggie.

I'm not here to say that being veggie doesn't help or is bad. I actually think it's great and a step in the right direction. And I can totally understand that it's hard and even a privilage to go vegan.
But just out of my experience I want to make people a bit more aware of what they are still supporting by consuming animal produced goods.
Because I was veggie for a very long time and just regently realized what I still supported by eating stuff like cheese or milk.(You are still supporting the meat industry by eating animal-based foods!!)

I really hope I'm not giving the wrong vibes here, being veggie is awesome! I just wanted to spread a bit more awareness:)

yes I know, consequently going vegan is the only ethical way to go even though I must say that even as a vegeterian you can do your best by buying organic food from local farmers etc...

My country’s vegetarianism rates have always been really low, so i didn’t experience that trend. And i personally don’t see myself becoming one in the future, i try to prioritise locally grown/produced products over just eliminating animal products from my diet. I think it’s better for the environment than just going veggie (if u wanna be a vegetarian it’s amazing ofc but it’s just not for me)

tbh it's not better for the environment but it's still a good step

It likely seemed like "everyone was vegetarian/vegan" to you before because that was the algorithm and circle you tailored for yourself -- an echo chamber, effectively. Meat has always been an integral part of the human diet and will continue to be. Eating raw meat is dumb as fuck though and a great way to get parasites.

Realistically the meat industry will never stop, so the best thing people can do (which IS starting to become a "trend" for other reasons) is just buy their meat and veg from local farmers who treat their livestock ethically. It's healthier for you anyway.
