Several sites that allow people to interact with one another are adding facial and ID verification to determine one's age utilizing AI. One example that directly affects me and millions of others is Discord's decision to implement this on March 1st for all users. This! Is fucking! Stupid! One of the many great things about the internet is the ability to remain anonymous online. The positives greatly outweigh the negatives, but of course, every single big tech corporation is in it exclusively for the money it seems rather than actually introducing new, useful technology that isn't slop-producing AI.
I've been very pessimistic as of late because of things like this. To me, it genuinely feels like the world is coming to an end because of the greed of the 1% and there is nothing we can do to stop it that I know of. Several big name companies on the internet are currently selling our data to ICE. I'm sorry for being so negative about this, but it's. hard to stay positive!!

The politicians around the world are going to squeeze the internet really hard these next ten years to get rid of anonymity.
Disgusting.
It will be under the guise of "protecting the children" as always too. We all saw how fast the UK ban on "porn" turned into banning news articles the government didn't like. Less than 24 hours.
The worse part is all this will be ok with normies because they'll just say
"Oh well. I have nothing to hide. They already have my information anyway."
Yeah but you don't live with your window blinds open 24/7 do you. Just because corporations and governments have your information doesn't mean you need to keep them updated or make it easier for them to collect.
