Since 2014, China has committed several human rights violations against the Uyghurs and Turkic Muslim minorities in Xinjiang, which have been noticed as prosecution or a genocide. There have been reports of mass: arbitrary arrests, detention, t0rtur3, mass surveillance, cultural/religious persecution, family separation, forced labor, s@ (s3xu@l vi0l3nce) and violation of reproductive rights (who knows many more they've done).
They are targeting: Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other Turkic Muslims minorities.
Their attacks against the Muslim minorities: interment, forced abortions, forced sterilization, forced birth control, forced labor, torture, indoctrination, (alleged) r@p3/ g@ng r@p3.
Victims: it is estimated to be half a million or more.
Motive: counterterrorism (confirmed), Sincization, Islamophobia and suppression of political dissent.
In 2014, the administration of the China Communist Party (CCP), general secretary, Xi Jinping (idk if I spelt it correctly) launched the Strike Hard Campaign Against Violent Terrorism, which involved surveillance and restrictions in Xinjiang. Beginning in 2017, under Xinjiang Party secretary Chen Quanguo. The government incarcerated over a estimated one million Uyghurs without legal process in interment camps official described as "vocational education and training centers", in the largest mass interment of an ethnic-religious minority groups since WWll. China began to remove those camps in 2019, and the Amnesty international states that detainees have been increasingly transferred to the penal system. In addition to the mass detention, government policies have included forced labor and factory work, suppression of the Uyghur religious practices, political indoctrination, forced sterilization, forced contraception and forced abortions. An estimated 16,000 mosques have been DESTROYED OR DAMAGED AND HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN HAVE BEEN FORCEFULLY SEPERATED FROM THEIR PARENTS AND SENT TO BOARDING SCHOOLS. Chinese government's statistics that in 2015-2018 birth rates mostly in the Uyghur regions (Hotan and Kashgar) fell by more than 60% in the same period the nation birth rates decrease by 9.7%. According to the CNN, Chinese authorities acknowledged the birth rates drop by almost a third in 2018 in Xinjiang, but denied the forced sterilization. Birth rates in Xinjiang fell a further 24% in 2019, compared to the nation wide decrease which was 4.2%. The Chinese Government denies having committed human rights abuse in Xinjiang. International reactions varied, with actions being described as forced assimilation or a genocide. Those accusing China of the genocide point to the point of international acts say it violates Article ll of Genocide Convention, which prohibits "acts committed with intent to destroy in a whole part", a "racial or religious group" including "causing serial mental and physical harm to members of the group" and "measures to intended to prevent births within the group". At the United Nations, several countries (mostly in North America and Europe) signed letters condemning China's politicies. On the other hand, several countries (mostly in Asia and Africa) signed letters supporting China's politicies as an effort to combat terrorism in the region.
(JUST BECAUSE COUNTRIES IN ASIA AND AFRICA AGREE WITH CHINA DOESNT MEAN EVERYONE IN THOSE COUNTRIES AGREES WITH THAT!)
