I've been super into Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as of late. I hadn't thought I would like it so much, but it's a lot of fun. It's not the type of game I would recommend to younger kids since it does have a lot of somewhat realistic violence and some underlying messaging that only adults would understand - like the movies. However, I do think kids around 16 to 17 can play it since they would understand the more mature themes at play and, therefore, would be able to enjoy the full content of the game.
Some of the messaging in the game includes (but is not limited to): climate issues and how it affects the planets, how big companies don't care for the state of the planet, being one with nature, using nature's gift, righting wrongs vs protection, and so much more. You have to have a really high level of thinking in order to process even some of what the game is teaching you.
I know I sound like an older lady (I swear I'm not) but it's true. There are just some games younger people shouldn't play. This is one of them. Especially since there are already kids who are acting out because they've been given the iPad one too many times.
But for us new adults and older adults, I highly recommend playing the game. It's a lot of fun just in general and has a lot of subliminal messaging about how we should be treating the planet. Like how we should be paying respects every time we take something from it.
