my take on the ICE shooting in Minneapolis as someone who lives in Minnesota and hates trump

alright. a little bit different than my normal content and this will probably be hard to read because correct punctuation is for losers but nonetheless, I heard about the shooting about a day after it happened from this video and I think it does a pretty good job at showing just how rage inducing this is. and a lot of this will be restating good points made in it. I'm going to break this into sections. and remember this is all entirely my opinion and you are entitled to your own, but I will be using MY page to express MY feelings. 

1. why?

why would they shoot? well, let's think. the argument is that she-she is Renee Nicole good-was trying to run over the ICE "agent". and in the video, we can clearly see that she was turning away from him. as seen in multiple frames in the video.

here we can clearly see that Renee was turning away from him, as well as the fact that he was most defiantly out of the way of the car. and that brings me to my second point

2. it is an execution.

the fact that we can see that he is not "in front" of that car shows a point that makes this that much more concerning. as we can see in this image

he did not have a straight shot through the windshield. he had to reach around the front of the car to KEEP his aim on her head. not only that but he didn't just shoot once to "deescalate the situation" he shot her THREE times. in the face. 

3. refusing care.

in the video taken of the incident we can see a clip where there is a man respectfully requesting to check for a pulse as he is a physician. we than see one of the ICE agents saying, and I quote, "I don't care." he does not care that a doctor wants to check the wellbeing of the woman they just shot. that is fucked up. he says it under the argument that they have their own doctors, however at the time of the question there was no medics on scene. and he knew that. think about that. the people being trusted to "protect" us have no problem saying "I don't care" to a doctor who wants to check on another person. and I would argue that does anything but protect. 

4. use your brain.

I am in no way saying you should not comply with police. you should always comply, because although these people are trained to deescalate situations that doesn't often happen. the possibility of these "cops" doing the exact opposite is higher than it should be. you could simply get in the way of one of these monsters and you're gone. so, obviously, do what they say. however, ICE agents don't LOOK like cops. they are genuinely scary and if I was being surrounded by people that look like that after doing nothing wrong, I would be scared too. she was scared. and trying to get away. I would too. 

5. lies.

trump said in a tweet that "it's hard to believe he is alive but is now recovering in the hospital" he said this while the shooter was walking free, looking proud of himself, and completely unharmed. trump flat-out lied to make the other side of the argument seem at fault, which is something he has been seen doing many times. what leg does his side have to stand on in this argument if the PREASIDENT is telling obvious lies with video evidence directly against him? 

7. the real issue

now, I am not the first one to say this, but this should not be a left and right issue. it should be a "was this rightfully done and with the evidence we have what do we do next" but because of the fact that we have proof of lies, videos of truth, and previous issues between these sides it's hard to look at from that view. 

8. MY conclusion

I do think that ICE is in the wrong and I think everything about this is disgusting. she did not deserve to be shot, nor do most of the people who ICE have targeted. she was not trying to run over an agent. she was scared. 

RIP Renee Nicole Good, fuck ICE, fuck trump, condolences to her family, and good luck america.
