I honestly have no clue how being morally driven by nothing but money, no matter how bad it is for the people, doesn't wear away at politicians' souls. It's like the second they got into politics any mention of a policy that's actually for the people got defenestrated, set on fire, and pulverised by a hydraulic press. I just get so frustrated to see people rise up to support someone who in 6 months is 100% guaranteed to be taking money from a CEO to give his buddies a tax break and then go out and say "I'm for the people!" like bffr we all know you're funneling our tax money to the big companies behind closed doors. I can't remember the last time the public health sector in my country was properly funded despite the fact we're in a Labour party government and have been since summer of last year. It's just lies and fabrications of caring for us.

All politicians, even the most conceivably altruistic one, are at the very least questionable because they wish to rule over other people.
True, but I feel like that questionable nature is important because supporting a person who seems trustworthy without doing your research to make sure you don't support someone who'll screw you over is kind of idiotic.

But, like I said, the entire nature of a politician is to rule other people, which by nature isn't trustworthy. Isn't a "trustworthy politician" kind of a contradiction by nature?

Yeah that does make sense now that I'm thinking about it
