Communism on TikTok

Anyone else feel like "TikTok Communists" don't really understand the concept of "Original Communism"?
First off, I'm not a communist, I never was and probs will never be but I am familiar with the concept, the ideas and the principles behind communism.
That's why I find it odd how many people (especially teenagers) are literally glazing it.
Please don't get that wrong, I understand that the concept of communism in itself sounds great - it really does. I don't mean that. I'm simply wondering why there are people out there literally praising Stalin and the Sowiet Union?? Like do you understand what happened there? The famines, the deaths of so many people because of literal hunger??
Also, I recently saw one of those slideshow things (?) on TikTok.
It was posted by an alleged "communist" (I know the owner of the account faintly, we've met and talked before).
It was a photo dump, there was a image with text which read "Against every form of anticommunism" (translated from german), which, okay, I mean you're free to post what you want. But after that, literally one slide further, there was a picture of the guy (who runs the account) on his trip to Thailand. Like?? Isn't that a bit ironic? He's praising communism and the next second he's supporting a capitalist system by literally traveling to one of the most popular tourist destintions?
I'm not saying you cannot travel as a communist.
I'm saying it's ironic how fast it switches from "Fxck Capitalism" to supporting capitalism at it's best form.
Am I the weird one? Or is it reasonable to think like I do?
