I just finished uni and came back to this site to find that it is no longer available in austalia due to the net wide age verification laws that just got introduced.
im typing this blog using a VPN but until the intrusive, plain dystopian law theyve introduced gets repealed i probably wont be able to post here and definitely wont be able to recommend my irl friends to my page :((
im so so extremely disheartened

They brought a similar law in the UK months ago. So long as you continue using a VPN you can post exactly as before. Also if your irl friends also use a VPN you can still recommend them to your page. In the UK most kids use a VPN to continue using their favourite websites. Even many adults use the VPN rather than endlessly share personal information and be at increased risk of fraud and identity theft. Just do as we do in the UK. Treat this worthless law with the contempt and disobedience that such an evil law designed to promote government interference in our lives deserves to be treated with.
at first the extremely long loading times was a deal breaker, especially for writing and previewing code constantly. but with the dramatic enshittification of the internet im yearning for blogging over short form content that rots your dopamine receptors and might just deal with the VPN connection speed.

Yeah I'm from the UK and had the same shit find a good VPN and use that for access. I recommendd Proton VPN, because the whole Proton suite of shit is perfect for someone who wants to say fuck you to government surveillance. Everything is encrypted and safe.
I’m not from the UK but I do live in the UK. I agree. Use a VPN and strike government surveillance blind.
