The term "poser" is so misused now.

I hate to admit it... some of the alt community is SO toxic esp to newer alternatives. I'm talking those ppl who go: "Oh you listen to type o negative? what a BASIC band you poser." or just any well-known band in general. I hate the word poser for what it became, It started as a way to call out people using subcultures like punk and goth to get attention and looks, disregarding the important beliefs and mindset surrounding them. Nowadays, it's just a way to ironically bring conformity into a place that's entirely about being yourself and not conforming to anything. Like what you wanna like as long as nobody's getting hurt, be yourself, be alt.
