we need to talk about society / precisamos de falar da sociedade

  Latelly i haven’t been able to stop thinking about what the future holds on to me in this “wonderfull and constantly inovating” society, ifywim.

I can’t stand the possibility that people my age are simply dumb, uncultured and ridiculously immature to realize the wrongs about the world. We live in a society where is acceptable extreme beauty standards and where the ‘halo effect’ is basically our life choices on who to follow or who to fun off. We are talking about the massive destruction of nature, where constantly buying items we don’t really need or just trowing a simple bag of chips on the sand of the beach it’s completely normal. Supporting and increasing brand’s fame like Zara, H&M, Bershka, Stradivarius, Brownie, every big fast fashion store you can find on the mall is using abusive and exploring kids and at least 3/4 of the people on Bangladesh to produce clothes, where they get 1,86€ per hour (2,16$). I mean, im not judging you, i do like buying new clothes too, and there is no safe store we can reach that doesn’t use bangladesh labor, and that’s exactly the problem. Even if we want to change for the best we can’t. We are trapped on a vicious corrupted system controlled by big brands that make those 50% off holidays discounts just to take the 50% off they give from the salary of those innocent people. 

I honestly can’t think living in a world where people’s taste is based on a tiktok scrolling session that gets you stuck in a world of trends just to forget for some moments the world outside, and that pisses me off so much. Is this really what we want to leave for our next generation to fix? is it? i mean there are people that complain about going to school because they don’t like to learn nothing n not because of the people there, while there are other people that would do anything to just get a book. There are people that complain about being poor just because they can’t buy the next 17 pro iphone while there are real people suffering out there.

And talking about money, what pisses me the most is the richest persons are progressively getting richer like Elon Musk that is about to be the first person to get a trillion dollars, the same trillion dollar he won’t use for nothing and leave it for the person who he wants to give the money. The same trillion dollars that could end the hunger in the whole world.

But this is just me i guess.
