One very popular dish of the county I'm living in is Wiener Schnitzel. It's basically breaded meat, but it's good. Almost every restaurant in Austria serves this dish for prices that cost more than both my kidneys combined, so it's definetly worth it
Ingredients:
ᛝMeat (usually pork or veal but any is fine, i like mine with chicken/veal is traditional, pork used a lot) (breast(google said best meat for that))
ᛝ1 egg
ᛝFlour
ᛝbreadcrumbs (you can make it yourself too)
ᛝsalt & pepper
ᛝlemon
ᛝoil
Preparation:
1.) Beat the meat like it's someone you don't like (don't squish it tho)
2.) salt and pepper it on both sides
3.) You will need a lot of plates. One plate for flour, one for the egg (beaten) and one for the breadcrumbs.
4.) dip it into flour then egg and then the breadcrumbs
5.) put the oil into a pan and wait until it's hot and then cook the meat in oil until it's goldenbrown.
6.) you can eat it like that or:
a.) with juiced lemon on top
b.) with cranberry jam
c.) fries
d.) rice
e.)rosemary potatoes/parsley potatoes
f.) potato wedges
And so on. (we love potatoes here)
