Hey ships of the fleet! What's poppin' today/tonight?
I hope you're all doing good no matter what time it may be for you.
So, I haven't been active in the past month. I just haven't felt the motivation to post a blog or even 3 fun facts. Lack of energy in the aftermath of business from real life, but I've recovered from that somewhat. Just enough to gather enough energy to post here, and enough energy to be able to stay active afterwards, but not a full-on recovery, y'know?
In that time, I was browsing through some stuff that I've wanted to share.
For the first time, I've gone to a Thrift Store. And no, it wasn't for clothing.
Rather, it was to browse to see if I could find some digital cameras (pre-2010s) or even some VHS tapes/cassettes and even some film developing machines. Did I find any? None.
So thus quite disappointing, but I did see two cassette playing machines with 2 different cassette inputs on both machines; I already have one though. I also did see a Kodak film developer, but it was camera/film-specific for its brand I'm sure. No way I could decipher that, sadly. I'm not well-versed in film and film cameras either way, but it's a fantastic thought to be able to photograph my friends and family and the like in vibrant and distinguished colors... If all I saw around wasn't Black & White film. No colored was available. Makes sense at a thrift store though if there are some Film hobbyists. They must've taken everything that fit them.
I also found a new music artist on YouTube that has a bandcamp. Their YouTube channel name is "Gory," but their music artist name is "MagicMan." They do a mix of "dungeon synth," "bardcore/medieval," as well as "keller synth" and "black metal." Sometimes it's all together, sometime's its just 1 or 2 things. Dungeon Synth & bardcore/medieval were combined into 1 album I heard of MagicMan's: "Tales from the Mystic Land of Never Ending Feast" that was published, as of this moment, 3 months ago. It is exquisite, honestly, as it covers songs from the late 2000's and early 2010's in the style of Dungeon Synth (which I've never seen) and bardcore/medieval instruments!
That's just... just... extravagant! Brilliant, even!
I can't wait to see what Gory/MagicMan does in the future. He also has a BandCamp, which you can find in his videos' descriptions and his YouTube channel's "About Me." He also (from what I can tell) has posted some singles/albums from other people as well, too. So he's not only a magic man doing some funky music, but also making opportunities for other fellow artists' to have their music known too.
I've also recently been getting back into a fascination of ships. Not specifically the RMS Titanic like when I was extremely young, but also other ships like the SS Californian, hypothetical ships like the to-be Titanic successor by the White Star Line called the "Oceania" that was never finished in the late 1920s.
I had a surge of fascination like this a while ago with ships, but this time I feel as if it's more grounded and it'll stay longer of which I hope happens.
Anyways, have a great day/night fellas!
If it's night, make sure to get some sleep. Your brain and body are important. If it's day, do some activities and spend time with your loved ones and go outside to experience the weather no matter if it's a rainstorm or a bright, sunny day.
Enjoy your time today/tonight!
