Halloween

I didn't dress up today

yet,

your gaze says otherwise

Is it the sleeves of my shirt?

sure,

they resemble the cheap iridescence of a 1970s magazine.

Is it my ill-fitted pants?

i know.

they're belted tight enough to bruise my strangled waistline.

my biting eyeliner?

really?

I tried to smudge them over my eyebags discreetly.

for me,

it's just another weekday

yet

you insist I tell what I dressed as.
