Grieving a video game.

Recently officially ended my FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14) subscription at least for the time being and it's got me thinking about the very weirdly painful experience of losing your love for a video game or video game franchise.

I guess I wouldn't say I've lost my love for FFXIV, it's simply just not what I personally look for in an MMO anymore, it's story and world will always be near and dear to my heart (I have multiple pieces of Tataru merch, all of the currently released Eorzea Encyclopedias, and a Red Mage pendant) but the game itself I just don't play anymore, and it, weirdly hurts?

Like I feel like anyone who's gotten into any kind of live service game has felt this kinda heart break at least once, a game just no longer being the same or even in some cases completely getting abandoned, hello fellow TF2 fans (ㅠ﹏ㅠ)

I know for sure a lot of CoD and Halo fans have basically been forced their beloved games turn into profit puppets, I especially feel for Halo fans after playing through all campaigns pre-Halo 4, one of the few game franchises I've found live up to the hype.

I don't know, just a very weird emotional response I've been experiencing and have experienced before and I'm hella curious if anyone else has.
