A few days ago, in the French city of Angers, a trans woman has been assaulted and beaten up.
Then police arrived and they... arrested and put her in custody (and of course, they've been transphobic the whole time).
And now she's facing charges for violence because she tried to defend herself.
Media barely talk about this (though fortunately, they do a bit).

friendliest cities in Europe for trans people, despite being in France
too).
And by the way, just in case: self-defense is fully recognised and legal by French law (Article 122-5 of the Penal Code).

The media is controlled by right-wing capitalists, and the easiest way to turn people against each other is to blame a minority. I am incredibly happy to hear that you can live safely as a transgender person where you live, but other people have it more difficult.
Even if we don't own news broadcasting companies, we can still spread awareness through social media and word of mouth. This story is one of many that shows us the unhidden cruelty in the world, and it'll stay unhidden until we do something about it.
There are tons of other tragedies that aren't broadcasted, because they happen so much and would dip the profits of the wealthy. The genocide in Gaza, Armenia, Congo, and Myanmar are all rarely ever broadcasted, and many don't even know they're going on.
These systems will continue to rot us from the inside until we tear them down and build them new. Until then, we have to persevere and fight for those who can't.

That just shows that we as people have the responsibility to spread awareness when the ones we put in charge to do so fail
