We have a lot of problems in this world, things are getting more expensive, political division is the highest it's been since the eve of World War Two, and it seems like here in America political assassination is as common as stepping in gum. In times like these we need to look at out values and ask ourselves what can we do different. I think Confucianism is in a lot of ways an antidote to the rampant and unfettered individualism that is at the heart of a lot of western problems. First off Confucianism is a lot better at creating more equally beneficial relationships than the typical western social models namely Christianity have and that's because Confucianism is more based on mutual respect than rigid belief in hierarchy. For example the Confucian relationship between parent in child would be as follows: the parent must be loving, caring, and fair for a child to be obedient, mindful, and respectful of the parent. It's all about getting what you give not just the supreme authority of higher power over a lower one. Imagine if we operated like that? If we recognized that respect must go both ways or it will collapse. Employers giving workers good hours and satisfactory pay in exchange for a good job, political rivals both maintaining respect and tolerance for one and other in order for the country to function better. I think society needs to learn from Confucianism that while we need different roles and hierarchies to keep civilization functioning, this does not mean the higher ups on that hierarchy have a right to subject the lower members to constant abuse.
Confucianism is the solution

respectfully, doesng confucianism have a lot of the same issues as abrahamic religions?
Well it's not a perfect system but a lot of Abrahamic so cities viewed authority as divine because god planned for it to be that way, the logic was "god is supreme and infallible and god is the ultimate authority and since god chooses the authority here on Earth all authority should be supreme and infallible". Confucianism is a lot more human focused stressing the need for accountability on both ends.

is that why it feels like countries that are confucius(?) in nature are really hard on others? is that why people are so overworked and elders' are expected to be really respected? im not trying to come off as inflammatory, i think all religions are okay as long as they arent hurting people

First off Confucianism is really less a religion and more a philosophy, secondly alot of East Asian social blights are caused from the abandoning of Confucian values in favor of western ones especially in places like Japan and South Korea which mind you it's merciless adoption of western values like Christianity and western consumer culture is what is turning it into a failed state.
