Dear diary, today was the 3rd day of my first college semester fall break. The weather was rainy and cold which really sucked because while I can appreciate the atmosphere being cold and wet walking to work was not fun. 

I end up getting to work 25 minutes early which was really lame because my phone was off since my mother couldn't afford to pay our phone bill on time this month even though I have sent her 580 dollars this month and 100 of that was for the phone bill but still she couldn't afford to pay for the phones and go to her music festival. *sigh* 

300 dollars was so I could pay for the car that's 4 1/2 hours that I don't drive because it's my mom's car, 100 to get her nails done for her music festival and 80 so she could eat over the weekend. I would say no if it was my mom on her own, but I have a younger sister and I worry what it'll happen if I don't let my mom have her way. 

Keep in mind I work at a fast-food restaurant chain native to my state and only work 3 days a week Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and I don't even take home 200 dollars per paycheck most weeks. The money I lent my mom is from my fafsa refunds. I had 1400 dollars I have 400 dollars tucked away in cash and I spent like 420 and my mom got the other 580. 

Anyways, I stood at work for 25 minutes doing nothing then playing papas scooparia on my phone because I have no cellular data. When I clock in I am placed on the shake station which is fine and I start prepping and due to the rain it was unbelievably slow. 

so 1 after another 2 of my coworkers go home so it is only 2 of us left running the front which are the register 1 station , shake station and lobby. I am running between shakes and lobby not all by myself because my other coworker was helping the best she could + our GM. 

what made work bad for me today was 2 very specific customers. So we have non-english speaking people in our kitchen so our managers have us send food tickets in parts so they have an easier time translating them, okay no problem!! does not bother me at all. unfortunately that means the food also comes out in parts so I'm handing food out as best as I can and making milkshakes as fast as I can and i come out with 3 milkshakes and a trays for this one table and the moan is standing there and she goes "excuse me were missing our shakes". and I think no problem she just doesn't know I was making them and bringing the rest of the food out. 

So I say "oh no sorry ma'am I have them right here" and she says "No we had Oreo and Vanilla" and I said "yes Ma'am these are it right here" and she goes "No we're missing our shakes" and I say calmly but I am already annoyed at her " No I just made them they are right here" and she just goes "oh" and grabs them and walks away.

at this point several people are already forming a line in the lobby and so I'm trying to take more orders and since I didn't have time to check the lobby to see if there were any napkins , straws , ketchup, ect in the lobby instead of asking me if we had any napkins this woman gets up from her table and starts yelling in the lobby " Hey I don't see any napkins , are there any napkins in that bag , I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be napkins right there" and she starts pointing towards the section where the napkins should be displayed. 

I then proceed to abandon my register before this woman can come to irritate me further and grab napkins and head to the lobby to put them out and she goes "Oh my god!! I was just talking about that you read my mind"...

you just...you just yelled about napkins in front of the good lord and everyone!? 

so that woman finally leaves me alone I take care of customers everyone's settled down it finally gets slow again. I was finally able to clean again and organize the stations and help my fellow coworker out a little bit. 

I see another woman come into lobby that had come into lobby another day I had been working there and the only reason I remember her is because she looks like Edna Mode if she were blond. She asks me for a burger tray with a small fry and a drink. I said, "Do you only want fries because I am required to give you two sides meaning you'd get a bigger portion of fries then what you're asking me for". and I do feel slightly bad because I was very tired at this point and I wasn't able to find the proper words. She responds, " I only want the one side". In my Brain I though "she just wants fries". so, I ring her up she pays for her food, and she never told me what size drink she wanted and so I hand her a large. For more context the cup sizes at my place of work are as follows Regular, Large and Huge. 

By Policy when a customer doesn't ask for a huge or reg cup we give them large. So I hand her the large cup and before she walks away she says " You know in the future uh... If your'e only giving a  customer one size you should up the drink for free." 

I just looked at this woman and as calmly as possible I said " all cups cost the same in a tray you just have to ask for a bigger cup , if you would like a huge I can get you a huge cup." 

and she said "oh..I didn't know that." 

....

NAHGHHHHHH REALLY1? YOU DIDNT KNOW!? I COULDN'T TELL FROM THE WAY, YOU TELL ME TO DO THE JOB I WAS TRAINED FOR!?

so after that things pretty slow so the best part of my day was my manager telling me I was free to go home for the day and I walked back to my dorm in the rain. I got to have dinner with friends and sit on space hey for the past few hours.
