posting about AI here seems like preaching to the choir because i'm fairly certain (and hopeful) that a loud majority of spacehey would be anti AI. however, today i was watching a video on hollywoods newest "synthetic talent" .. tilly norwood!! the idea of a fake, ai generated "actress" literally makes me sick to my stomach its so dystopian. the fact that all this soulless generated crap is supposed to be the future of the arts is absolutely appalling. i was talking with my mom about it who has a different viewpoint. she used a metaphor basically saying that AI would make people appreciate the real stuff more. but what about the people who let the corporations shift what they watch without fighting it at all? imagine living a life where nearly everything you consume is a horrific conglomeration of slop produced by a machine. a life without any art in it. and what about when the market shifts, pushing out real artists in favor of the machines? phasing people out who have devoted their whole lives to this, skilled creatives who no longer have a job because of the money-hungry people in charge. of course im no expert but to me this appears to be the direction we're heading if we're not already there. and then you get into the fact that we're all being forcefully subjected, about the workers who are forced to use AI by their employers, about how every website, company, everyone is implementing AI, shoving it down your throat as much as possible. honestly what are we supposed to do?

i'm 16, a junior in high school. pretty soon im going to graduate and then apply to college, not knowing whats going to happen to the industries of the world with the rise of AI. im really worried and scared. what if i find something im interested in, graduate, get into debt, and now i cant find a job because there arent any left for humans? i don't know where all this is headed. i feel naive and helpless
