HIIIIIIIII! :3 (screams into the void)
Before starting with my rant, I am giving a bit of context. Last week, a 16 year old student was killed by one of his classmates at CCH Sur (it is a highschool that covers grades from 10th to 12th). This triggered a bunch of stuff, from protests to other students claiming that they will participate in similar acts of violence (some faculties opted to move to online classes while they "update security measures").
The thing is, this is not the first time something like this happens. As a matter of fact, even the university has participated in violent acts against students. For example, they have groups (that we know as "Porros") used to repress political movements created by students. I bring this up to point out that UNAM does not care about our security, you could die at one of their faculties and you would be lucky if it even gets acknowledged by the university. The same security workers are known for threatening students and ignoring real problems.
What we live as students is systematic violence, a problem that surges from the root of UNAM and our society as a whole. More surveillance will only create more problems and will not fix anything, what we need is to completely reshape everything.
To be honest, I am extremely stressed and tired. My faculty is on strike so I have no classes, we supposedly get back on friday but there is uncertainty about that.........................................................................................................I hate UNAM with all my heart
