This anime is a complete waste of time, it's honestly not worth it at all. Its only advantage is that it's aesthetically pleasing (the anime is sexist as hell, and the only times the shots are EXTREMELY well-drawn are during the sloppy, saliva-filled make-out sessions...It felt like I was watching a hentai), but NOT in terms of character design, nononononono. If you want to get an idea, this is what the PROTAGONIST looks like:

just your average anime boy with brown hair and brown eyes, LOOK HOW BORING HE ISSSS,, HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING INTERESTING. NOTHING. NO UNIQUE FEATURES NOTHING HES BASICALLY NAKED

MEANWHILE, THE SIDE CHARACTERS LOOK LIKE THEY SHOULD BE THE PROTAGONISTS INSTEAD OF THIS POS OF A 'MC', LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?? I don't even remember his name, that's how irrelevant he is.

Not to mention he's a total pick me boy, a massive coward, an idiot who doesn't even know how to act around his only friends, like, dude... and he doesn't even appreciate the woman in his life.

The anime's plot is basically:

The protag (15) likes a girl (Misaki, 15). The girl likes him back (shocker), and they start making out from the first episode. Then he finds out that when they turn 16, the government is forced to give them a "notice" assigning every minor a girl/boy to marry. I was like, "Okay, maybe that's how it is in Japan or whatever the fuck." So, the protagonist gets assigned a DIFFERENT girl, not the one he likes, and he's in denial for the entire anime. Poor Riri/Lili or whatever her name was. And basically, the protag sa Riri, and blah blah blah, he keeps making out with Misaki, and... yeah, I'm not even going to say anything else.

And I thought, "Okay, fine, I'll give it a chance since it's only 12 episodes and I was curious how it ends." When I tell ya it has NO ending, literally NO conclusion, NOTHING. Basically, the protag ends up with two women. He fucks two women. He has two women, makes a harem, has a threesome, chooses both of them, and THE GIRLS ARE OKAY WITH IT??

So, the anime is ironically hilarious bc throughout the show, the writers tried to create a 'connection' between the dialogues and the title. It's so funny bc when I was watching this pos with bff, we were laughing hysterically every time they said "love and lies." we were like: OH MY GOD, HE SAID THE LINE! HE SAID THE LINE!!!!

Anyway..

overall, I've heard the manga is much better than the anime, so I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend that you do NOT watch the anime first bc you're basically sh. Start with the manga instead.

Apparently, the manga has two different routes, which is weird but okay_for those of you who want to read it.
