what i wish corporations could bring back from the 90s web

yes, i know i wasn't born until the 2010s. yes, i know i didn't actually experience it when it was mainstream, but i have still had a strong interest in what the old internet looked like. i'm just... being the quirky, autistic teenager that i am, and probably won't ever stop being. :)

but i want to talk about the things that not only could give the internet a more... "alternate universe" kind of feeling, a more fun and at the same time: a much more user-controllable digital environment in this window on our screens to a different world.

1. the next button, and eliminate the infinite scroll that it's own creator regretted of making. its unhealthy, but people doesn't seem to think they have a choice because they don't want to be part of the outcasts, the weird small group in school, the ones that are different from what's normalised in this strict society that we have created. so let's stop the use of the infinite scroll and start using the next button because it gives people a choice whether they want to continue browsing, or if they want to walk through the exit door.

2. less minimalism in web design... or actually, any software design in general. it makes the page or interface more interesting to browse. (atleast in my opinion)

3. more use of the late 90s web design. generally that's what i want the most. :)
