Growing up

I'm gonna be as honest as I can: so far growing up has not been like watching a collection of stickers or a tree grow. It has been nothing exciting, nothing that makes me happy. I feel it more like watching some sci-fi specie of fungus grow on your skin and take over your body, making it grow longer and bloated, and having everyone around you act like you're supposed to be happy about it. I feel putrid and overgrown.
