As of writing, Charlie Kirk was assasinated yesterday, September 10th 2025, by being shot during a public meeting, & looking at the situation of the US from the other side of the pond I can't help but sense a kind of deja-vu to those countless hours of fun research into history.
We have been seeing all across the world increasing need for change in society & governments. The rise of right-wing populism in the western world, public insurrections against corrupt political structures, war between nations, wars within nations... & I fear that the U.S has reached a turning point in its history.
I cannot say I appreciated this man or his beliefs when alive, his rethoric & opinions, the few times I heard of them, seemed excessively cruel & unjust in my eyes; but the important thing is that this assasination, no matter what the media or angry mobs yell, sets a precedent for political instability in the U.S.
The underlying problem of the U.S, as I had previously mentioned, is a lack of change from the increasingly mischevious political class & upper spheres, more inclined to maintain the current status quo than serving its citizens effectively. But as people grow mad at the lack of change, their frustration can no longer be contained in thoughts & is released by means of action. What we saw yesterday is just another escalation of this conflict of interest between the common people & the so-called "representatives of the people".
My heart goes out for everyone to keep safe & please, I insist, make of reason your most powerful weapon. Don't let the current drag us all down the fall.
