My thoughts about Charlie Kirk's death

I'm not going to sit here and cheer the person who shot him. It's a sad thing to see. I'm also not going to act as if I actually care. I'm not going to feel bad for a grown man who not only lacked basic empathy, but also refused to learn and be better. If he had a family, I'm sorry that they have to go through that pain. I feel awful for the students who had to see him get shot.

What I'm sad and upset about is the fact that we got here. That there has been an uptick of political violence because being a Republican/MAGA nowadays means being full of rage and anger 24/7. There always has to be someone to fight. We aren't even a full year in. Of course, it's not just the right. I don't condone political violence of any kind on any side. Actual reform doesn't come from killing the "Bad Guy". It can help, but you can't just kill someone and have that be the end of it. It makes the killing pointless. Outside of us not having to hear his bullshit anymore, what purpose did him dying serve?

I'm so tired of looking at the news and constantly seeing all the ways that they're trying to ruin this country. There's always something happening. The right-wing media is going to cry and say that America has no place for this type of violence. It's only okay when it's done to everybody else but them. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if the shooter was a member of their base and did this just because they didn't like Charlie Kirk. Do you think that this would Kickstart gun reform of any kind? Of course it won't. There was a shooting in August at a church. These people don't care about anything.

There are stupid people trying to run the country. The Supreme Court keeps making decisions that limits their power. The Senate and Congress have things that they can do to counteract Trump but don't because... being loyal to Trump is very rewarding? Like, I genuinely don't understand what following and being loyal to Trump could do for you. It has literally backfired in so many people's faces. Institutions that are, please do your job. Why are you so hellbent on protecting a man who would throw you under the bus in less than a second if given the chance?

I'm sorry that this turned into a rant.
