I went to Dolomites in Italy for around 10 days with my mum's side of the family. Basically me, my brother, my mum, her bf and his daughter (I'm calling her my sister for simplicity), as well as my grandmother. Had to be one of my best and worst experience at the same time.
I'm saying worst because I felt like everything around me was trying to rage bait me the entire time.
Ok I'm gonna sound like a moody teenager. But god I hate this part of my family. Not my grandma, I love her sm. But everyone sees and treats me like I'm a stubborn teenager.
How tf am I supposed to be calm if my sister is making the stupidest remarks of all the remarks that have ever been remarked, and my brother is commenting on every single thing that I do in the most misogynistic and sexist way possible. And somehow, I'm the problem.
Not only that, but something else I've noticed. Every time luggages need to be carried, or something though needs to be done. My mum purposefully makes her bf and my brother do all the work. Now I'm not saying I can lift all 6 luggages alone, but jesus christ I can move a luggage off a conveyer belt, and I can lift up a few bags of groceries into the kitchen. And somehow, I'm the only person who's pissed about it.
And what's hilarious about all this is that my mum actively supports feminism, and still pulls ts.
Don't u dare get me started on "stop giving attitude" when I'm literally staring at the wall. What ru on??
Anyways, apart from that. Apparently god was also trying to test my patience. Because there was the lunar eclipse I was desperately looking forward to for years, and it was fucking cloudy so I couldn't see anything. If I didn't go on the trip I would have managed to see it. so uhh yeah wanted to kms.
Back to the trip. It was, ok. If you love nature and mountains and animals and rivers and greenery and shi would definitely recommend going. You take like an hour to go somewhere tho so uhh learn how to sleep in the car cuz that's what I did. (best naps ever)
Overall it was a pretty boring trip for me imo. Cuz we mostly just hicked, and drove, and bought groceries. But there were a few things that were actually enjoyable so I'll write abt those.
ALPACA FARM
My favourite part of the whole thing tbh. Was basically this farm with the main attraction being the alpacas. They were supper goofy I loved them. The owner also gave us a personal tour, she spoke in italian so I only understood keywords, but she seemed super sweet.
She had a bunch of different chickens cuz apparently Chinese chickens look fluffy. My dad's obsessed with chickens tho so I got him a little handmade crochet chicken plush for like €20. Idk if that's a scam for a handmade crochet the size of my hand but I'll take it. They also had alpaca yarn so idk if its made form it. If it is it would make more sense in my head.
There was also this black cat that was following us around too. They were scared when we first got there but they're cool. Her name was Kira and she was a total cutie. I have a gorgeous picture of her in the grass.
Anyways there were also these HUGE ASS GEESE. I didn't know geese were THAT BIG. They were like a meter long!! Is that normal?? They were a pack of 5 just moving around together like me with my hgs. One of them had a 'disability' cuz someone gave her bread when she was still a baby and now her wing looks distorted. It looks sick ngl but still sad.
Anyways that was kewl. And the views were gorgeous. AND ALSO since it's September. The grapes were good to eat. and when I tell you they were SO GOOD. I've never ate a whole bunch of grapes before. Like, they were sweet inside, but the outer layer was abit sour. but still crunchy, but not too crunchy yk?? heaven. (Also James Marriot reference guyss)
FUN-BOB
It was basically like this little go-kart, roller coaster thing where you go down a hill in zig-zag, while taking in the view. I totally recommend it cuz not only is it fun, but you can adjust the speed to you don't need to go too fast if you don't want to. And the mountain view was absolutely gorgeous.
I ended up having to go down after my sister. And she was going SLOW. So I had to take it more slowly. If u wana go fast, I recommend staying in front of whoever wants to go slow. I know that's obvious but I'm dumb.
ADVENTURE PARK
Ok this was pretty fun, but also painful. it's like a zip-line obstacle coarse in the trees. Was super nice, and fun. But there were parts where you had to climb on this wall of rope which made my hands hurt.
There was also a bit where you have to dangle on a rope and grab on said wall of rope, and climb up. It was like 'Tarzan.' That was probably the best one. And it was also hilarious seeing my mum's bf fail to grab on the rope properly. No hate for him tho, he's chill but also a workaholic.
HORSE RIDING
This was actually my sister's suggestion. And it ended up working out pretty well. We basically went to this horse farm and rode a horse around the trees and mountains and shi. Really chill.
The horse they gave me was actually a mother, so I ended up also having a smaller horse following mine around during the whole thing. Almost every horse had a different personality trait which I thought was kewl. But some of them, including mine, just reallyyy wanted to eat the grass. So you'd end up having to stop mid walking just for them to eat, cuz how tf ru gonna pull a horse's head up.
Mountains were really pretty too. Following us were also these 3 dogs who were super adorable. They were mostly there to keep the horses in their tracks. The amount of training you need to pull that off must be incredible. One of them was superr affectionate cus he kept coming near me and signalling to get pet. Other ones weren't as friendly, but one of them seemed abit old and enjoyed abit of a head scratch.
Super chill. loved it.
GO KARTING
We did this on the last day cuz my brother suggested we go. The track was pretty big. I managed to get 4th C:. I got stuck like 3 times tho. The smell of petrol was absolutely sickening. My head kept hurting for a solid hour after that, just because of the smell. But it was fun. Also dont tell anyone but the dude that came 3rd place... smash. Even in his picture he looked like such fine shyte, and I just look like an absolute dork. on the screen just pulling out my C: face like a 12yrold.
BONUS -- HOT TUB
We got to use the hot tub that was close to where we were staying. I only got to use it once cuz I was on my period :C. But for the one time it was rly chill. I got to take aesthetic pictures. Although I was forced to listen to my brother's straight boy music, it was nice.
Also there was a toad near the house that night. He was super chill. I wanted to grab him but I wasn't sure if he was venomous or smth so I just took a video of him and let him be. bro was probably so scared tho.
Anyways that's all the fun stuff. apart from those, we mostly just walked around in nature and drove for hours to see lakes. yaaaayyy.
Now I'm home. Thank god. I need to send some stuff to my collage and I can start getting ready for that. Wish me luck chat
