my heart is where my kidneys should be

my brain is somewhere else entirely

my feet are up in the air

this is all normal and acceptable

heads bearing shut eyes turn on me

i want to scream but my mouth is in my stomach

muffled

teeth chew out of me in earnest

the body should be whole

the doctor prescribes tic tacs and nurse slips rat poison under the table

i cant take them

my mouth is too busy chewing

auto-cannibalism entirely concealed

my mouth is still chewing

my brain is somewhere else entirely
