I always wonder how people like Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong have the mindset and mentality to rule with an iron fist. Especially Hitler cause he was brainwashing children and forcing women to be birth so he can have more soldiers. And to think that us human beings small specs in this vast universe have the nerve to be racist just off of skin or to think they are 'superior'.
Joseph Stalin killed millions within his years of reign.
And Mao Zedong caused a mass famine and ruined China during his time.
What goes on in that mind of theirs when they do all of this. Is it Greed? Mental Illness? I have no idea and this is why i make worlds where i have my own dictatorships to have fun.
That's all for now.

stalin was very paranoid about political enemies (not the... best trait to have as a leader especially with murderous tendencies) though there were factors that influenced this
the funny austrian painter with the mustache? well, have a look into how and why fascism happened post-WW1... also many factors which influenced this
I suppose figures like these serve as historical lessons to not repeat again

probably lust for power and control. Literally like feral animals, doin whatever it takes to secure their place
Liberating madness
A dictator is more than just a person; they embody a system. To rise and endure, they require ambition, a relentless will to power, and an unshakable belief that they alone are the cure for their nation’s ills. They see themselves not as one leader among many, but as the solution incarnate.
Paranoia runs alongside this ambition. Dictators are deeply suspicious of institutions, elites, and social groups they believe caused or perpetuated the nation’s problems. At the same time, they cultivate charisma and the ability to weave myths around themselves. Even after their death, their legend can persist as a political force.
Yet dictators do not rise in a vacuum. Their ascent depends on the conditions of their society: economic hardship, national humiliation, political instability. In such times, people often seek decisive figures to think and act for them. This herd instinct makes it easier to justify or accept atrocities individuals are discouraged from standing apart when conformity feels like survival.
What unites these figures is their ability to fuse personal myth with national destiny. Loyalty to the leader becomes indistinguishable from loyalty to the people themselves. In this way, dictatorship transforms from individual ambition into a system of belief one that outlives the dictator and reshapes the nation’s history.
Thank you for this in-depth response!
