tik tok and the useless terms

i recently noticed something and i'm quite unsure if it's something that has been happening for a while and I haven't noticed or if it's actually a modern tik tok phenomenon.

when I scroll con tik tok I see a lot of new terms being created almost every week in order to make thing sound more... "aesthetic"? not ot mention the fact of people asking for "what's the name of this aesthetic?????" "oh, it's just (insert weird ass or overly specific word here) core!!!" "it's wonyoungism/jennieism/whateverthefuckism!!!!!"

although people trying to find their own personal style doesn't really bothers me (i actually find it cute and even useful to explore yourself) what I find infuriating are the terms created for NORMAL stuff to look or sound not so boring to fit into the "i'll show that even my trash bin fits into my aesthetic criteria"

i noticed this trend when I saw the term "cigarette car" for, well... an used car... but hell no, I have to make this car look like it's thrasy y2k mallgoth jesse pinkman core!!!!

and today I saw a tik tok of a person talking about a "personal curriculum", i was like ?? when I searched for it it was literally journaling about interests or goals for the month, but hey, journaling doesn't sound good anymore i believe

to be honest, this is a very get yourself a real problem issue i have (something like grandpa simpson yelling at a cloud) but I wanted to share it somewhere, specially because i won't be hypocrite and recognize i'm a human too and also fall for these kind of stuff, for example, the horror game protagonist stuff?? IM A WH0RE FOR IT!!!

but whatever, just enjoy your silly little stuff and be happy anyways don't get someone (me) get on your way with that
