Tsuki - 2020 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Been getting into car culture recently after my first big person purchase :3 Right now I am only thinking of external cosmetics till I pay it off. Want to go for a chrome/black/purple color scheme.

Only issue is I do not know where to look for more inspo other than modded 4 runners, since my car is an SUV and not a sporty sedan mitsubishi.

*sigh*

I'll just be honest. The problem is that you can't do anything but cosmetic mods later down the line. If I'm not wrong you have a FWD SUV with an engine that doesn't have any aftermarket performance parts support (because there is no potential for more power) paired to a CVT transmission (even the thought of going off-road is enough to kill it). In a nutshell you have one of the worst staring points possible. Literally a bone stock 90s Toyota Corolla would outperform it in every way imaginable.

I mean clearly you know your stuff LMAO, yeah I just upgraded from a 2007 Chevy Impala because of space purposes. I def was looking into more cosmetics than racing persay, till I pay the thing off. I appreciate the honestly!!

What kind of car do you think would be good to start with performance wise?

To start off you need to think very seriously what you want to do with it. If you want to do serious off-roading you typically want a body on frame 4×4 (ex: Suzuki Jimny, Toyota 4Runner, Ford F-150 4×4...). If you only want something that can go on country roads a 4WD should be enough (ex: Subaru Legacy, Audi A4 quattro, Toyota RAV4...). If you want to do fat burnouts you need a RWD: 3rd gen Ford Mustang, BMW E36, Chevrolet Express van (as weird as it sounds) etc. If you want a daily that gets decent MPG but it's also fun you probably want a FWD 4 cylinder (Honda Civic, Volkswagen golf 1.8T/1.9 TDI, Dodge Neon SRT...). Most of these cars can be purchased second hand for under 5000$ depending on what model year you get and general condition. You don't need a lot of money to have fun. My project car (1999 Volkswagen Golf 4 TDI AHF) was 1000€. I spent another 1000 bringing it back to life and with another 1000 I should be able to get 200 HP reliably.
