Questions regarding my politics I get asked about frequently

1. What does being a leftist mean to me?

Being anti capitalist and wanting people to have their basic needs met

2. Do you believe capitalism is inherently exploitative?

Yes, they produce wealth inequality and exploit and puts profit over human needs

3. What is a book you would recommend for me to understand your politics?

The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and the ABC's of socialism

4. What do you think non leftists misunderstand about leftists?

Leftists and liberals aren't the same thing, I get called a radical leftist, the radical left, and liberal. Liberals aren't radical any criticism about Obama chances are I'm going to say it's bad because I'm not a liberal, all you are doing is proving to me that both D and R candidates have the same immigration and foreign policy when you bring those two things up

5. Are there any criticisms of the left that are valid and worth talking about?

I think we treat being a leftist like a social club where we alienate people who disagree about stuff like optics, (voting lesser of the two evils etc) Regardless if you agree or disagree we should be guiding leftists and educating them not shunning them

6. Things you would disagree with your opposition on?

Funding foreign wars (Israel and Ukraine) and staying out of foreign affairs. I never thought I would agree with Tucker Carlson or Thomas Massie on anything but America has been terrible with foreign intervention and all that money we use on foreign wars can be used to take care of Americans, we don't need to be involved in foreign affairs that don't involve us and I think conservatives and those further to the right share my sentiments.

7. Why has socialism failed if it works in theory?

It hasn't been properly tried. Every time a country has tried to implement it the USA meddles in those countries and tries to install puppet dictators or regime change, Cuba has has sanctions which impacts their access to import goods and cripples their economy

8. What drew me to leftist politics?

Realizing I was started to advocate against capitalism and watching a Second Thought video and going on reddit socialist forums and realizing that I agreed with their politics

9. Do you think meaningful change happens through reform or revolution?

Through accelerationism, I recently started believing that the contradictions of capitalism will lead to people revolting and starting a revolution.

10. How do you explain systematic oppression to someone who doesn't believe it exists?

I usually talk about drug disparity arrests, the criminal justice system and how it's not about what's physically in the laws or books but what happens in practice, I also bring up red lining. I talk about systematic sexism that occurs in places like hiring, promotion etc

11. How do you talk to people who disagree with me politically?

I usually just ask them open ended questions to get them thinking or go with a point that they can agree with like, you hate the 9-5 system or hate this and then advocate for my politics

12. Difference between liberal and leftist?

Liberals are pro capitalist and for the status quo leftists are anti capitalist and anti status quo and our politics are more radica
