LimeWire & Dumbgood Shenanigans

A few days ago, I ventured into Ross and found a LimeWire t-shirt, looking like it came right out of 2004. This design was actually really good and stood out from all the other corny/mundane clothes, and so I bought it. When I got home however, I discovered it was way too big and baggy to wear---even at home.

The article of concern

I took to the Internet to find the exact shirt, since I doubted there would be another of the exact same design at Ross, but I found no matches at all. At least, however, until I found an article that described LimeWire partnering with a certain "Dumbgood" brand. One of these images was the exact same design (despite being on a green hoodie instead of a gray shirt). Going to the Dumbgood website though, only displayed one listing for a different LimeWire design. I checked the date that the article (as well as many other similar articles) had been uploaded: November 2024. This confirmed my hypothesis that the other designs had probably been all sold out. So, the search seemingly ended unsatisfactorily.

The Dumbgood catalogue, by the way, is pretty bad. All of the clothes are themed after "nostalgic" cartoons, horror movies, and other media (as well as the obligatory Dumbgood-branded merch). Some were alright, but there were many that were downright horrendous, like an American Psycho tee consisting solely of a screenshot from the movie blown up to cover the whole shirt. A similar pair of pants donned a large portion of the opening monologue, with two small screenshots underneath, and the film title above, all on top of what appears to be ketchup stains squirted all over. And this was all on the front!

Others weren't so terrible, but still had mere PNGs and graphics pasted poorly onto whatever clothes were unfortunate enough to be made by this brand. Nearly all of these listings also, were on sale for only half their original price, of which many were originally over $100! I can't tell if they're just listed as being "on sale" to make them appear cheap, or if sales are actually so poor they have no choice but to cut prices. Regardless, this is one of the most comically bad clothing brands I've seen in a good while. I feel like it would be what "Goosers!" (of Roblox) would make if they were a real-life clothing brand; only, they think they're making good, serious designs.

Anyways, I just went back to Ross, and---lo and behold---found the exact same LimeWire shirt in my size. Yay :3
