im glad i started actually using this site again, mainstream social media feels so disconnected and its easy to feel like youre in such a little bubble. i get you can message your friends but i feel like sites like this really promote just hopping in a conversation and interacting, it feels more real.
of course i still look at the occasional instagram reel or comment on a tiktok but everyone on those sites are so mad all the time!!! it feels like all those are good for is spreading your shitty opinion farther and wider than it really ever needed to be.
ive also noticed that the main way i like to engage with social media is through commenting, why didnt i rejoin here sooner!!! the whole site is just commenting its awesome!!!! (also sharing entirely unprompted personal opinions which is my favourite passtime)
anyways im going to LA in a few weeks so if anyone has any reccommendations for anything to do down there,,,, lemme know!! (will probably also post a bulletin asking the same thing later lol)

i love that spacehey isn't centered around "building your brand" or figuring out an algorithm, it's so nice to just read people's thoughts slightly outside of that idea of social media!
also as an LA native, i can offer some recs! if u like japanese food, marugame monzo in little tokyo has the best udon and hakata ikkousha there too has really good ramen! other good food: pizzeria sei for amazing pizza, homestate for tasty tex-mex, and hae jang chon for great kbbq!
as for museums, my number one rec is the academy museum if you like films!!! they have so much cool stuff. the broad and the getty (which is a bit more out of the way but still) are great art museums, lacma is the big one but i highly recommend the broad too!
fun activities: pinku in little tokyo is a fun spot to make deco goods & family arcade (very literal name) is a great arcade that's only 25 bucks a person for free games for as long as you want!
lemme know if you'd like any other recommendations !! i stuck to things more in LA city proper rather than surrounding coastal cities but there's lots to do! i hope you have so much fun :3
