Going into my last/only year of high school and how I feel as someone who hasn’t been to school since 2020

YEAHHHH WOOHOO FUCK YEAHHH

Ok hear me out. I never was a fan of school back when I went, and I will admit traditional education is deeply flawed. However, man, some people really do not understand how it feels to have a conversation that goes like:

“So what school do you go to?”

“Oh, I don’t go to school…”

“No school? Are you homeschooled or something?”

“Uhm… something like that.” (I’m not even homeschooled, I’m just trying to end the conversation by this point.)

The good thing about school that most people take for granted is normalcy. Normalcy as in having about the same education as other people your age. Normalcy as in having the same opportunities to meet people as others your age. Normalcy as in just being able to talk about your school. As complaint-worthy as school can sometimes be, it feels a lot less isolating to be able to complain about going to school rather than complaining about not going to school.

And besides, I think I kind of ought to graduate high school if I want a job other than taking commissions online.
