I was recommend this by a friend, I’d never heard of Argentinian Rock (I don’t know if this is its name it’s been called “Argentine” too so I’m not entirely sure) so I was pretty interested in what it had to offer.
Overall I enjoyed it some. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite album due to its slower vibe and the piano which I didn’t like too much. But it wasn’t terrible either, songs where the guitar came in were always solid. I was thinking with the name having rock in it that it would be faster. It’s fine that it’s not because it’s still a vibe.
It sort of gives me a chill vibe, like you’d listen to it while melting into nothingness or something. I can get down to that stuff, but because I don’t speak Spanish (if they are speaking Portuguese lmk because I can’t tell them apart) I feel I can’t completely understand what the artist is trying to convey. It’s not really a negative on the creators because it’s not their fault but it does detract from me liking it as much
I noticed how some songs kind of sounded like RnB in the piano and vocal style, I think that’s a cool fusion and not what I was expecting. Some songs, like “En La Vereda Del Sol” gave me vibes of The Beatles too, not really a positive or negative I just noticed it.
I do enjoy how a lot of the songs use strange and different background instruments like what I think is a synthesizer or maybe a piano in “José Mercado” on a side note I really really loved that song. The stern vocals and upbeat music made me want to bust a move. My only problem is that it was too short
Some songs like the 2nd and 3rd one were pretty boring, it’s probably just like how I said before I couldn’t understand them, I’m sure the lyrics give a good perspective in it but not for me unfortunately.
Another thing, the way the songs are recorded gives it a kind of warm, jazzy feeling if that makes sense, the piano is sometimes combined with snare drums which also help that. It kinda reminds me of that “everyone knows that” song in its familiar but distant memory feeling, I’m not sure if it’s intentional but I like it.
My favorite songs on it are definitely “Peperina, Cara De Velocidad, José Mercado, and Salir De La Melancolía” the rest are alright to not my taste. However they still have clear love put into them, which makes me not hate them, even if the piano on a few makes it sound like wedding music.
Overall if give it a 6/10 nothing that made me want to skip the next song, the good songs are really cool. And I like the vibe it goes for.
If you see this, tell me how I did. It’s my first time rating music. If you want to recommend me music please do so I’m open to basically anything.
