Israel's Deliberate Campaign of Starvation in Gaza (and Other Updates)

It has been 21 months since Israel began its genocide of the Palestinian people living in Gaza. In that time period, it has been confirmed that 60,000 Palestinians have had their lives brutally extinguished by the Israeli regime, although the actual death toll is estimated to be far higher than 60,000 due to the fact that many Palestinians have gone missing since October 2023 and are presumed to be buried under rubble. The Israeli military has not only ended lives, though. It has also destroyed civilian infrastructure, including houses, hospitals, schools, places of worship, electric power lines, water systems, and roads. It has been estimated that up to 80% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed by the Israeli army since October 7th, 2023. Housing units have been hit particularly hard by Israel's campaign of genocide in Gaza. According to Doctors Without Borders, 92% of housing units in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed since the genocide began.

Israel's destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza is but one method of terror they have been using to carry out their genocide of the Palestinian people. As of late, the Israeli government and the Israeli army have been engaging in a deliberate campaign of starvation in Gaza by setting up an aid blockade, thus preventing aid from getting to those who need it the most. Those of us who care deeply about Palestine have probably seen the images of malnourished children (some of whom are just infants), their bodies reduced to skin and bone and their eyes pleading for nourishment, coming out of Gaza lately. These images have likely haunted us all; I sure know that I have been haunted by them. Although deaths from starvation in Gaza have been occurring for a while now, there has been a spike in starvation-related deaths this month (July 2025). According to the World Health Organization, "of 74 malnutrition-related deaths in 2025, 63 occurred in July - including 24 children under five, a child over five, and 38 adults." Just think about that for a minute. 63 different people (25 of whom were children), each with their own name, personality, life, dreams, fears, likes, and dislikes, were taken from us this month due to malnutrition caused by a genocide that the vast majority of governments around the world are complicit in.

How evil is that?

It's so evil. The worst part is that I keep on getting pro-Israel propaganda online defending all their actions.
