I feel like this is something that obviously a lot of people know now, but I just hate the fact that it's still such a prevalent issue, you know?
I see videos of "AI ASMR" or those stupid AI generated gorillas, and every time I go to look in the comments expecting to see at least someone who is like "yo wtf stop using this," it's ALWAYS instead full of people who either think its the funniest or the coolest thing ever. People are just so brain-dead.
Real people suffer every day because the AI's servers require an insane amount of maintenance that completely destroy the environment around them. There are communities that have been without real, clean water for months and yet nobody talks about them.
Just irks me.

AI is destroying the environment, as well as the internet and basically "poisoned" it, in a way. I've seen so many people (as in videos, not irl) also just using ChatGPT EVERY DAY because they can't live without it, people who WORSHIP AI and so many others who will believe everything it says, when it frequently lies. And then GENERATIVE AI makes me SEETHE. I'm an artist myself and it's both very angering and sad that so many people would rather see ai slop than real, human-made ones, and the fact that ai prompters exist (i wouldn't even call them artists with a "" on either side) - but also it shows people who truly appreciate art and humanity, and that there will always be people who value human art instead of ai (because ai doesnt make art, it steals from us and uses that to create whatever slop they make). And then the environment. It's also how much water they use, and it seems like barely anybody gives a shyt. Just when I thought the world was becoming more aware of problems, ai started becoming more and more used, until like more than half of the content on the internet is now probably ai (justa speculation, I'm no scientist) and some people are still ignoring it, as if it's gonna go away if we don't believe in climate change. "Oh but water is a renewable resource!" We've been using up more resources each year than the Earth can regenerate it. At some point, we're going to run out if we continue like this. Well, hopefully not, but we're still poisoning the earth.
Sorry for my long rant, but oh god, did I feel the need to comment this all :,)
YEAH EXACTLY YOU GET IT !!!!!!!!!!!! I tbh I think the only good thing to come out of AI is that now it's just easier to weed out the people who suck from the people who don't T-T

EXACTLY!! and then people are like "wow, we've had a lot of heat waves and consistent thunderstorms lately!!" I WONDER WHY. it's almost like AI is producing so much air pollution that it's actually speeding up the process of climate change EXPONENTIALLY. the asmr isn't that good, the gorilla videos aren't funny, and that character ai bot isn't going to sleep with you irl (and neither will any actual living being if you keep this up) (sorry i didn't mean to go on a full angry rant here LOLZ)
