What makes this song so great is how it references loneliness and the lack of actual emotions in relationships or in cases that never even turned out as an actual relation. Someone who has been through a false sense of love, or lack of hope on loving someone someday, might relate to these lyrics, using the "night" and "dark" atmosphere to bring a sense of comfort someway.
