My views on feminism, as an opinionated lesbian, autistic, teenage girl.

This post contains mentions of incredibly dark themes, if you don't feel as if you can see many references to these themes, don't read this post!

I was scrolling on pinterest when I decided to make this post, this is as rather than being on the outfit inspo, or recipe, or DIY spheres of that app, I happen to fall into shitposts and ( the reason I'm making this post, whispers. This is as I often ( and i mean often ) see posts that all throw out that same phrase of " feminism isn't hating men, it's about equality ". I am well aware the majority of these posts do not come from any sinister intent, but I find the framing of feminism in this light a mockery of what feminism means at it's core

I have formed this opinion due to where I lie on the topic of feminist alignment and beliefs, I am a radical feminist ( no, I am not a terf ) , I also take some beliefs from marxist feminism. I do not believe that the illusion of gender or sex equality in a capitalist society and world is progress in the slightest; the system itself needs a reconstruction if we wan't to even see the distant image of equality alone.

This belief in a total reconstruction is why I am so adamant against the entire " feminism is not hating men, it's about being equal to them " statement ( as well as other reasons I'll touch on soon ). It's a fantasy, pure gleeful makebelieve, this is the form of " feminism " I trusted so heavily in when I was a small child, and to see it spread lessens my hope in the feminist movement in it's entirety. When is a woman truly equal while the world " thrives " under capitalism, when she's allowed a voice? When she's allowed work? When she's allowed the vote? When her pay is up to par with all her male counterparts? When she can deny her husband, and if he does not take it into account he can be punished?

We are stuck in an endless cycle of blind celebration and the true face of dismay, In a world built up on patriachal standard a woman will never truly be free, no matter what laws are passed, no matter how men treat her ( to her face ), no matter pay. This is because the system itself is built against women ( and many other minorities for that matter ). No matter how many times you say women have the same status as men, that does not make it true.

" Women have no fewer rights to men! " At face value, this is true. However, even a brush of the dust settled at the surface will reveal otherwise. Women are lacking in adequate healthcare rights, A woman can be denied a life-saving abortion purely because of state legislators that; in the majority of cases have no idea on how procreation truly works. Even outside of legislation, women are severely neglected and borderline abused by the western healthcare system; both in physical and mental health services. This is without any overview of eastern systems, especially in the middle east, women have no healthcare system. Currently in Afghanistan it is illegal for women to practice medicine, have a medical education, as well as see a male doctor. These women are treated as objects, and if they become critically ill, they're practically left on their own to rot. This entire issue becomes far worse once we step away from medicine, women in Palestine are being treated like cattle, Native american women disappear and the police do not care to look for them, women in the Congo are overlooked in their torturous sexual abuse, Afghan women cannot speak, transgender women are consistently facing extreme rates of violence and murder.

As I said, I would also like to brush on other reasons for my beliefs before I write up a conclusion. While I have many reasons, the main reason other than mere fact is my personal experiences with men. I am fifteen, in less than a quarter of the average lifespan, I have experienced harassment, rape, and an attempt at my life. Due to my age at the time of my assault ( three years old ) I cannot truly unfold the ways this has affected me. However, the attempt at my life occured at thirteen, therefore it is still incredibly relevant in my memory ( despite my complete erasure of it in my memory throughout 2024 ). What could a thirteen year old girl, walking by the beach at 7pm with her friend POSSIBLY do to deserve threats with a knife? Refuse to approach a middle aged man I did not know in the dark. This said man then attempted to chase me and my friend down the path  next to the desolte beaches, until we ( Thank the fuckin' Lord ) found an area with people, and bought some nice fries because God knows we deserved them.

This leads onto the subject that many modern feminists look down on women who have aversions to men, no matter the context; to these people that cower behind equality, justification does not exist and you are a misandrist for your avoidance and dislike. Dismissing women for their reluctance to interact with men feeds back into the patriarchy, believing that women must involve men no matter the cost to their mental health centres men yet again. Your equality is utter bullshit if it puts down victims and uplifts male dominance.

I honestly don't know a correct way to end this post, I'm not really a writer, my focus is on my art, however, this topic is something I hold incredibly close to my heart as some who cannot escape the constant harassment of men ( having E cup boobs at 15 is NOT for the weak ). I hope that this reaches at least one person who has a similar background as me.

Realest shit ever. Absolute Cinema.

I agree with everything you said. I think women should stop caring about men's feelings while their literal life is at risk most of the time. They say they are opressed bcs women are scared of them, but would never know how it is to live while always fearing for your life. Idk wether to call myself a radical feminist tho, or any other label tbh, bcs I think all these versions of feminism have their ups and downs, and I like to take the good things from every side. Hating men is justified, fearing them is justified. Even the women that want to get revenge on men every chance they get is justified. This might be the first time women were actually allowed to hate their opressors, so I think humanity should let them do it. But also, I have a few beliefs that I think are also productive and could do women a lot of good. First, always think about gender norms and discourage anyone and everyone by following them to a t. What I mean by that is, judge people anytime they encourage toxic femininity or masculinity, call them out. Women and men who shame men for not being like the perfect idea of masculinity are harmful. Same with women, anyone that shames them for not being the cookie cutter perfect idea of a woman, are harmful. Encourage everyone to go against them. Encourage men to be vulnerable, and encourage women to fight back and respect themselfs. I think thats the only way we are ever gonna be equal. Women that hate other women for not being like them, men who hate other men for not being like them, all these people are harmful for everyone. The way to get society to be normal is to dismantle societal gender roles that put everyone in a box and opressed them for getting out of them. Some men already dislike other men too for being toxic. People are starting to see the truth. Once there will be no differences between us, no propaganda of how male and female brains are different, then there would be peace. Continue to hate men for their bad behaviour, and support men who are on their best behaviour. Criticize toxic masculinity and feminity, and stick together, support other girls, and dont hate any other minority group.

I love this post, but one thing keeps sticking out to me: how unfair it is to be born as a woman in the middle-east. It seems that, from the very start, you're considered a sub-species of human compared to Men.

Like, Afghan women can't become doctors, or see male doctors. Make it make sense! If they can't see male doctors, OR female doctors (because they don't exist), then how on earth do they receive medical care??

It's really difficult being a woman in the middle east. My heart goes out to all of them. Yikes.

(Also, heavy on the mistreatment of trans women!!)

i dont seem to understand what your belief that feminism is but i do understand and agree that the current understanding of what it is is a poor choice since using your experiences and the experiences of others (as something to point to) that men and women cant really be equal since women are at a serious disadvantage physically and systemically. apart from the systemic things like abortion and the blockading of their choices what is there to do about the other issues since like Kayborg said there is a fairly vocal minority that is using the guise of feminism to just simply hate on men

If a women claims a movement out of pure hatred, then that's a poor masquerade. She does not represent the movement in it's entirety in the slightest. I believe in defending women who do not feel safe around men, not those who hate someone due to their sex or gender alone as gender wars are pointless squabbles that take us nowhere.

I believe modern day feminism is a depopulation effort. They mostly want women to work jobs and abandoned having kids and starting a family. They do this to stop the population from having kids and work them selfs to death. Why do feminist care so much about work when everybody hates working.

I'm a man so my opinion on this topic is worth less but isn't part of the reason some might look down on women who dislike men or have aversions to them is because if they are seen as a representation of the overall sentiment of feminism, the entire movement is seen as against men and, from that, there is a clearer thing to push back on from misogynist content creators, people, lawmakers, etc. who benefit from a "us vs them" mentality? Clearly, it's a profitable model that permeates into the psyche of many men who absorb and regurgitate content on the humiliation of someone who they can't even understand and who they think dislikes them. At the same time the exclusion of women from feminism is clearly against feminism and the suppression of the female voice only empowers misogyny so the argument for excluding women
with differing opinions falls apart. Curious to know what you think about this.

The number of women who genuinely do not like men in their entirety is a number that has been blown incredibly out of proportion. I also do believe that a boundary needs to be set where it becomes genuinely harmful. There is a clear difference between the two statements " I do not enjoy the pressense of men due to my history of trauma involving them " and " I hate all men ", one is a display of boundaries a woman is displaying with a history to back-up these boundaries, while the other just brings down the feminist movement and makes us look like a man-hating movement. It's all about where we draw the line at trauma based discomfort and mindless hatred.
