I hate the internet now! After 2019 the internet just went down hill! everything is so bland now. I still have instagram and Tiktok and stuff for my friends... but i just feel like every time i open my phone now my brain shuts off! it makes me feel stupid and then i can even remember why i opened the app! apart of why i got a Spacehey page is because im trying to find a better replacement for short form social media and have a place tfo put my thoughts that isnt in some dusty old book! though i have to be honest.. as much as i hate tiktok and instagram its a huge part of me finding myself. if it werent for tiktok i wouldnt have found the bauhaus and gotten into the goth subculture as well as find out about my sexuality! social media is good at connecting people to difeerent communities but OMGGG it makes me so lonelyyyyyy
Basically if thed dead internet theory is real i hope we can go back to a simpler ineternet

I feel like 2018-2019 were my best years alive. The modern day is so great, but it just sucks. The quality of life is objectively better than it was in, say, the 90s or whatever, but I feel like the struggle of life back then was a catalyst to bring everyone together. The internet was still developing, and we were all exploring new opportunities and such. People nowadays genuinely don't even need to ask for help from others anymore. There's AI for that. The things that drew us together as a community have been 'optimized' to not need more than one or two people, if any people at all.
TikTok and Instagram weren't a very large part of my development, but I can't say I hated it when I first had them. Recently, it feels so soulless. People sending each other endless reels and the endless stream of entertainment optimized to keep me scrolling to the point it's just habit. I don't want to, but it's comfortable. I get so bored.

EXACTLY!!! It just feels like a digital junkyard! I wish we could go back but all the companies care about is keeping you engaged and making more money!
